We have to admit it, February is the “Love” month. Love for what? Whatever! In my case, we’ll obviously be discussing fashion. Fashion is what I know and what I do best. It’s why I’m getting out of my bed every morning and what I want to deal with all day long, every day. I think about fashion, I dream about fashion, I eat fashion for breakfast. But fashion and I are definitely in a love-hate relationship.

As a stylist, I’m VERY picky before purchasing or even trying something on. New designs and trends are instantly analyzed by my fashion scanner and classified in either my “love” or my “hate” tastes file. Small details such as stitches color, buttons, necklines and collar shapes, fibers or cuff width are just a few examples of what can turn a cute shirt into a horrible piece of clothing. As much as I can be in ecstasy in front a fabulous piece of clothing, fashion frustrates me sometimes. When shopping becomes your weekly sport, you quickly notice what the new trends are. You ask yourself: why can this same dress be sold again and again since 2005? Who thought this kind of shape can look good on any woman’s body? Or, with what can these shoes be matched?

First, here’s what I HATE from current trends or what I can’t stand at anymore:

I HATE (from left to right): PEKABOO SHOULDERS, TAIL SKIRTS, BOW HAIR CLIPS, IRIDESCENT DENIM and PUFFED SLEEVES

Do you know what I recently realized? When you see a piece of clothing that doesn’t look nice at first sight, try to imagine it on a different person with a different style and different accessories. You’ll mostly be pleasantly surprised by the trendy result you’ll get.

Now, here’s what I LOVE from current fashion:

I LOVE (from left to right): SCOOP BACK TOPS, HIGH WAISTS, HUNTER BOOTS, COMFY KNITWEAR and SUEDE

But don’t try to sell me these same adorable clothes in two years because I’ll be totally over them!

Kisses and hugs.
