If you’re part of large family and you have many friends with children, you’re probably receiving a lot of invitations to baptisms, birthday parties and baby showers. Every time I do, I have the same problem: what am I going to wear?

It is always complicated because I don’t feel like black color is appropriate for that kind of events but we’re all having so many black clothes. So if you are looking for ideas, here are three outfits that fit in a child celebration.

You have to be able to play with kids so comfort is really important. Wearing a long skirt will prevent any unfortunate “underwear episode” and will allow you to move at your leisure. A kind of hippie-chic outfit would totally be appropriated and, if your heels hurt too much, take them off and play barefoot!

Sometimes, changing shoes is enough to change a whole outfit. With a trendy-granny style like this one, you can wear flats and keep it girlie and comfortable, or you can add nice wedge sandals to look summery and even more feminine.

Finally, for a more official celebration, like a baptism, you may want to look chic but still wear something that goes great with the baby. Pastel colors are a must and don’t be shy to wear white, it’s not a wedding.

Be creative and keep it colorful!
