If you haven’t heard of them you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade, 30 seconds to mars is now on their second worldwide tour for their third album entitled “This is war” and they stopped off in Toronto last night, where I got to experience it for myself.
When I see this band only two words come to mind `sheer brilliance`. From the very first show I saw in a crowd of 10 at vans warped tour a few year back they have always gave such an invigorating stage presence, now in a sold out venue they never seem to amaze me of what they can do.
The show opened up with band Anberlin who rocked the stage until the crowd fell silent in anticipation for the headliners. They came out strong and the crowd went wild, during the show I thought of the reasons why they are considered a great band.
Besides the music and the obvious good looks of lead-man Jared Leto, the band is very appreciative of their fans, from ages ranging 13-50 the band invites people up on stage from the crowd to give them something up close and personal. They also saved their acoustic version of `From Yesterday` for the first time to be heard in Toronto. The shows keep getting stronger as the band grows a bigger fan base more every year explaining why shows are being sold out on the 2011 tour.
Their next stop is Montreal where there will be a theme of `Zombie Night“ so if you live in the area I suggest you throw your ghoul makeup on and go check them out!
