Being a plus-sized woman shouldn’t deter you from having amazing style. All you have to do is look for patterns, textures, colors, and styles that flatter your body type. Full-figured fashionista, Ashley Falcon, recommends cool geometric prints for this fall. She says, “The key to wearing over-the-top patterns, which often make objects in mirrors appear larger than they really are, is to wear scaled-down versions of the print.” Snakeskin is hot this season, so why not treat yourself to a nice V-neck top, or a tailored jacket that falls just above your hips, or some sexy pumps in this alluring pattern?  Bold colors are in as well and your attitude to wear them should be equally bold. Get solid colors that complement your skin tone and hair color.

Ladies, baggy clothes don’t have to be part of your wardrobe! The secret is in savvy shopping and dressing from the inside out. For starters, you must get full-coverage briefs. No, they don’t have to be girdles or granny panties. Bare Necessities sells delicate feminine underwear that will hug your curves in the right places, giving a smoother appearance to your dresses and pants. No bulge allowed!
Second, make sure you are wearing the right brassier size. Many women wear bras that are too wide around the middle and too small in the cup. Check your underwire to ensure that it’s working properly. If it leaves the center part of your chest, you’ll need to increase the cup size. When in doubt, look for a nude bra with smooth cups and somewhat slimmer straps.

Once you’ve covered this part of your wardrobe you can move on to savvy shopping. Get waist cinchers to help you emphasize the smallest part of your body. Empire waist and wrap-around dresses do the trick. Remember, you’re creating an optical illusion that’ll attract attention your smallest part.

Slacks and jeans should have straight legs to help you elongate your gams; tapered is so passé. And for shorter gals, avoid bell bottoms and wide-legs. Low-cuts don’t do justice to your curves, so covering your midsection will create a curvier silhouette.

And who can forget the most important accessory to go with your fabulous and stylish wardrobe: BIG confidence. Ladies, get to know your body, have fun while shopping, and smile.
